Guidelines: Eastern Asia Youth U8, U10, U12, U14, U16, U18 Championship 2018

Chinese Chess Association (CCA) under the auspices of the Asian Chess Federation (ACF) and World Chess Federation (FIDE) have invited the Malaysian Chess Federation to participate at the Eastern Asia Youth U8, U10, U12, U14, U16, U18 Championship 2018 which will be held in Shanghai, China from 1st to 10th August.

This is an official FIDE event and the Malaysian Chess Federation is honoured to invite all eligible players in the respective age-group to participate in the event.

Federation’s Official Player

All winners from the 2018 National Youth Championship (the Champions) may be offered to represent Malaysia as the official players in the event, subject to the approval by the Selection Committee.

As official representatives, the players shall entitle of full accommodation and lodging during the event (subject to the regulation by the Organizers). The official players, however, shall responsible for all travelling expenses and other expenses which may incur before, during and after the event.

Only players who will have sent the application to the Selection Committee shall be offered the spots. The Champions who are interested to participate in the event are required to email their application not later than 31st May 2018.

The Selection Committee will notify the approval to the players by email and the players are required to reply the acceptance of this offer together with the scanned copy of the return flight tickets and a proof of payment of the registration fee within 5 days.

Shall the Champions in the respective categories are not applying after the dateline, the spots shall be offered (only) to the second to the fourth place winners accordingly.

The second to the fourth winners will be notified the availability of the spots by an email after 31st May and the players are required to accept the offer within 5 days. A notice of acceptance must be sent together with a scanned copy of the return flight tickets and a proof of payment of the registration fee.

Federation’s Additional Players

All players in the respective age-group who are registered under Malaysian federation are also eligible to participate in the event, subject to the approval by the Selection Committee. All additional players are required to write-in the application to the Selection Committee not later by 31st May 2018.

The Selection Committee will notify the approval to the players by email and the players are required to reply the acceptance of this offer together with the scanned copy of the return flight tickets and a proof of payment of the registration fee not later than 30th June 2018.

The additional players shall responsible for they own accommodations and hotel expenses, travelling cost, and all other expenses which may incur before, during and after the event.

Application Procedure

All applications and documents must be sent by emails to the Selection Committee and addressed to selection@malaysiachess.com.

After the offer has been accepted by the player, RM100 will be charged to the individual for a processing fee (non-refundable). Any payment shall be made to Persekutuan Catur Malaysia, CIMB current account 8000-64-9725.

The Malaysian Chess Federation reserves the right to change this guideline without prior notice and any dispute shall be referred to the Selection Committee for a final decision.
