Festival Catur Putrajaya broke the Malaysian Book of Records for the highest number of under 16 years old participants. A total number 1,224 under-16 players took part in the event yesterday. The tournament was held in Menara Seri Wilayah, Putrajaya City Center.
The closing ceremony was launched by the Malaysian Minister of the Federal Territories, Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan bin Tengku Mansor. Malaysian Chess Federation Deputy President, Datuk Tengku Ahmad Badli Shah bin Raja Husin was also in the closing ceremony to witness the event.
During the ceremony, Nurasyikin Ramli of Malaysian Book of Records handed the award to the Headmaster of Sekolah Kebangsaan Putrajaya Presint (SKPP) 18(1), Puan Salmiah Hashim. SKPP 18(1) is the main organizer of Festival Catur Putrajaya 2017.
